LAN Refresh Technician x2

Job Description:
The Network Engineering/Operations team at our global client int the aerospace and defense industry is seeking a motivated LAN Refresh Technician to support an enterprise-wide network infrastructure upgrade. This multi-year initiative aims to refresh LAN hardware across more than 50 sites this year, involving the replacement of over 600 network switches. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in the installation and replacement of Local Area Network (LAN) components, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and structured cabling. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a Fortune 500 company—supporting critical IT infrastructure across a wide range of locations. Requirements:
2+ years’ experience in a LAN/Network Engineering role (preferably at an enterprise level company)
o Hands-on experience developing, configuring and installing Router/Switches
• 1+ years’ experience with Cisco Solutions: Catalyst 9300 switches, ASA Switches and Cisco IOS
• Experience building a rack and stack
• Hands-on experience with network refresh projects or hardware installation
• Experience troubleshoot TCP/IP, VPN/IPSec technologies and IP routing issues
• Experience with Microsoft and Unix-based operating systems

Nice to have:
• Certifications that are a plus: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the physical installation and replacement of LAN equipment (switches, routers, wireless access points, etc.)
• Label and document cabling, ports, and device locations accurately
• Perform basic network testing (e.g., ping tests, port checks)
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the network infrastructure, configurations, and changes for future reference as well as knowledge sharing
• Manage and maintained Cisco networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless components.
